Carved during a time of deep transformation, I didn’t know what it wanted to be while I was creating it. It only revealed itself slowly… like a flower opening when it’s ready.
When it was finished, I saw it clearly: a portal.

How is it made?
My design process varies from piece to piece, some I still create in silver and most I carve in wax.
I always start with the crystal first. The shape, colour and energy inspires me to create the design. Often I work with wax, carve it, file it, melt it, press it…the options are endless. Once I am happy with my designs (I usually create a bunch) I send them off to my jewellers to help me with the casting process. There is a lot too it and I rather leave this up to the pros.
Close to my heart is that everyone involved in my business does well.
Therefore, I have chosen to work with a fair trade high end jeweller that empowers balinese artisans to create a viable income from their craft, so they can keep supporting their family.
Furthermore, this jeweller is also using sustainable business practices, such as reduce, reuse, recycle and tree planting in order to protect the earth.
